According to the sources, Fadnavis is all set to take oath as the Maharashtra CM for the second time on July 1.
Late last night, Shiv Sena Supremo, Uddhav Thackeray tendered his resignation to the Governor. Soon after, Devendra Fadnavis, BJP and Shinde camp were seen celebrating and distributing sweets.
According to the sources, Fadnavis is all set to take oath as the Maharashtra CM for the second time on July 1. With the support of rebel MLAs from the Shinde camp, the NDA alliance will stand at 160 in the term of the numbers.
Maharashtra Assembly harbours the strength of 285, making 143, the golden number to form the government in the state. With Shiv Sena losing 47 MLAs, the MVA stands at 121.
The Maha political crisis, which began over 10 days ago, is expected to come to an end with Fadnavis reigning and taking oath as the CM. The crisis began when Eknath Shinde, Minister and senior Shiv Sena leader, went rogue and took several MLAs with him. While the Shinde camp kept growing, the pressure of maintaining the majority in the assembly kept building on the Thackeray government.
As Governor moved the assembly for a floor test on the request of the BJP leader on June 28, Shiv Sena had turned to Supreme Court for some relief on the matter.
