Earthquake of 5.2 magnitude hits NE of Lucknow

National Center for Seismology (NCS) reported that an earthquake with a magnitude of 5.2 on the Richter scale occurred in the early hours of Saturday in the region to the north-northeast of Lucknow.

On Saturday around 1.12 am, there was an earthquake. The earthquake occurred 82 kilometres below the surface of the earth.
National Center for Seismology tweeted, “Earthquake of magnitude:5.2 occurred on 20-08-2022, 01:12:47 IST, Lat: 28.07 and Long: 81.25, Depth: 82 Km, Location: 139 km NNE of Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh.”
A 3.6-magnitude earthquake struck the Pithoragarh region of Uttarakhand earlier on Friday, causing light vibrations to be reported there.
A tremor was felt around 12:55 PM.
Later NCS sent a tweet that stated, “Earthquake of Magnitude:3.6, Occurred on 19-08-2022, 12:55:55 IST, Lat: 29.96 & Long: 80.12, Depth: 5 Km, Location: 43km NNW of Pithoragarh, Uttarakhand.”
NCS reported that a second 3.1-magnitude earthquake struck Hanley village in South-Southwest Jammu & Kashmir.
