Top innings from openers Alex Hales and Jos Buttler propelled England to a 10-wicket triumph over India in the second semi-final of the ICC T20 World Cup in Australia.
The final between England and Pakistan is already set. England openers Jos Buttler and Alex Hales gave their team a strong start in pursuit of 169. From the start, both were dealing in fours and sixes. India did not enjoy a dominant powerplay with the ball, as both Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Arshdeep Singh were mashed around mercilessly.
England reached 50 runs in just 4.5 overs. England were 63/0 at the end of the powerplay after six overs, with Hales (33) and Buttler (28) at the crease.
Hales reached his half-century in just 28 balls.
England were 98/0 at the conclusion of 10 overs, with Hales (57) and Buttler (37) at the crease.
England reached 100 runs in 10.1 overs.
Buttler also reached his half-century in 36 balls, his 19th in the format.
The Blues had no replies for England’s batting.
England were 156/0 at the conclusion of 15 overs, with Hales (81) and Buttler (71) undefeated.
England reached 170/0 in 16 overs, with Buttler (80) and Hales (86) undefeated.
Earlier, Hardik Pandya rose to the occasion with a blistering half-century knock, leading India to 168/6 against England at the Adelaide Oval on Thursday in the current T20 World Cup.
