You must be living under a rock if you are not aware of the buzz around Aditya Dhar’s blockbuster film, Dhurandhar 2. From Ranveer Singh, R Madhavan, Sara Arjun to Arjun Rampal and Sanjay Dutt, the stars have been basking in the success of the movie ever since it hit the theatres. While Rakesh Bedi was conveyed love by Pakistani politician Nabil Gabol for playing Jameel Jamali, the next in the list it is Sanjay Dutt. The actor has earned praise from Naureen Aslam, late Karachi police officer Chaudhary Aslam Khan whose character was portrayed by him.
What Did Naureen Aslam Say?
Interacting in a podcast with AajTak Radio, Naureen Aslam shared her reaction to Sanjay Dutt’s performance. She highlighted a particular scene from Dhurandhar: The Revenge and said, “When he stands near the car and raises his eyes, for a moment it felt like Aslam himself.” She went on to add that the Munna Bhai M.B.B.S. actor was a good choice for the role and managed to capture the mannerisms of her husband on screen.
She, however, was critical about the film citing that the spy thriller could have explored Chaudhary Aslam Khan’s character in greater depth. “If they were making a film, they could have at least called me, the police, or journalists to understand both his positive and negative sides. He fulfilled tasks that the rest of the police never could,” she added.
The late cop’s wife also noted that she has not watched the whole film and have seen only snippets. She mentioned that the portrayal of language in the movie may not make it a family-watch but are reflective of real-life police culture.
Dhurandhar 2 Cast And Box Office Numbers
Dhurandhar: The Revenge has shattered several box office records, crossing Rs 920 crore net and Rs 1,101 crore gross at the domestic box office in 14 days. The film stars Ranveer Singh, R Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, Sanjay Dutt, Sara Arjun and Rakesh Bedi in important roles. Helmed by Aditya Dhar, the spy thriller was released on March 19.
The prequel was equally successful starring Akshay Khanna as Rehman Dakait. The story revolves around an undercover Indian intelligence agent Hamza played by Ranveer Singh. He navigates Karachi’s crime networks, political landscape and seeks justice linked to the 26/11 attacks. The first installment of the flick minted around Rs 1300 crore worldwide and is still running in theatres even three months after its December release.
