After heavy rains caused a flood scenario in Lahaul-Spiti, 105 people—including tourists—were evacuated as part of a coordinated rescue effort by police and the civil administration in Chattru, Himachal Pradesh.
Manav Verma, SP, Lahaul-Spiti, said that 105 people were rescued from Chattru in a combined rescue effort by police and civil administration after they were left stranded owing to a blocked roadway during flash floods in the Chhattru area of the Lahaul-Spiti district. Last week, there was a flash flood at Tozing Nullah on the Tandi-Udaipur highway in the Lahaul subdivision.
According to the authorities, 80 of the total number of rescued persons have gone for Manali while the other ones have been housed in Koksar and Sissu.
According to the administration, an additional 30 people (mainly drivers) have stayed behind in Chhatru with their cars and have enough food and supplies with them.
Boulders struck one car. The only occupant, the driver, is secure.
The impacted parts of NH 505 are now shut, and traffic won’t resume until BRO 94 RCC has finished making repairs.
Earlier on Monday, numerous Indian states are expected to see severe rains, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
IMD predicts that today may have showers in several areas of Tamil Nadu, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Kerala, Jammu & Kashmir, and Uttarakhand.
Heavy rain is anticipated to occur in Kullu, Shima, Solan, Bilaspur, Kangra, Chamba, and Mandi.
