Hyderabad Rape Case: AIMIM MLA son and nephew arrested

The juvenile son of an AIMIM MLA was held by Hyderabad police on Tuesday in connection with the alleged gang rape of a 17-year-old in the city, which has garnered national news due to suspected participation of politicians’ relatives. The MLA’s nephew, who was also a minor and had been on the run until now, was also apprehended.

Hyderabad police commissioner CV Anand claimed the MLA’s son was arrested under section 354 of the IPC and the POCSO Act (attack or use of criminal force with intent to outrage a woman’s modesty), not for gang rape. The Innova in which the crime took place, according to Anand, was a government vehicle.

According to a police official on Tuesday, six people have been arrested in the rape case involving a 17-year-old girl that occurred on May 28 in the Jubilee Hills region of Telangana’s Hyderabad.

“All five youngsters, as well as one major, have been apprehended. The only major is Saduddin Malik. Four of the accused have already been brought before the Juvenile Home, and the remaining two will be brought before the court today,” said CV Anand, Hyderabad City CP.

The Commissioner of Police of Hyderabad, CV Anand, stated at a press conference that “In this case, we did a thorough investigation. This case involves five minors and one major accused. On March 28, a Banglore resident requested his three pals to hunt for a pub to hold a party. Amnesia Pub was proposed by three people.The Amnesia pub was booked by Osman and another guy. More than 150 people payed to enter the pub. They also paid a one lakh advance later on.”

The event occurred on May 28, when the youngster arrived to the tavern at midday, according to the Commissioner. However, she did not tell her parents about the incident until May 31.

“The accused halted the vehicle in an Innova automobile on Highway 44. CCL raped her first, followed by four others at that location. She also sustained serious injuries during this period. They then returned her to the pub and dropped her off here. Then she dialled her father’s number, who came to pick her up from the pub ” added Commissioner.

Meanwhile, two more juveniles were raped in Hyderabad on Monday, making it the fifth such incident in a week.

Two more rape cases involving kids were reported earlier on Sunday. The first of the two cases that surfaced on Monday was reported to the Ramgopalpet Police Station, while the second occurred within the Rajendernagar Police Station limits, according to the Hyderabad police.
