The Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare notified on Saturday that 5,747 new Covid-19 infections had been recorded in India in the previous 24 hours.


The number of active cases in India is presently 46,848; this represents 0.11 percent of all infections. The number of infections that have been successfully treated across the nation over the past 24 hours has increased to 4,39,53,374, according to the Health Ministry. The current overall recovery rate is 98.71 percent.
The weekly positivity rate is 1.74 percent, compared to a daily positivity rate of 1.69 percent.


3,40,211 of the 89.12 billion Covid tests that India has so far completed in the last 24 hours alone.

The Union Government is dedicated to stepping up and broadening the COVID-19 vaccination programme nationwide.


The nationwide COVID-19 immunisation campaign started on January 16, 2021. On June 21, 2021, the new phase of COVID-19 vaccination universalism began.


The Government of India has been assisting the States and UTs by giving them free COVID vaccines as part of the nationwide vaccination campaign. The Union Government will purchase and provide (free of charge) to States and UTs 75% of the vaccinations produced by the nation’s vaccine manufacturers as part of the new phase of the COVID-19 vaccination push.

Out of the 216.17 crore vaccine doses for the Covid-19 infection that have been provided as part of the nationwide vaccination drive (94.62 cr Second Dose and 19.14 cr Precaution Dose), 23,92,530 doses have been administered in the past 24 hours.


The ministry reports that more than 216.41 crores (2,16.41,70,550) vaccine doses have already been given to States/UTs via the government of India (free of cost channel) and through the direct state procurement category. Additionally, the ministry reports that more than 3.94 crores (3.94,02,820) in remaining COVID vaccine doses are still available to the States/UTs for administration.
