Prime Minister Narendra Modi today stated that India’s agenda for the Group of Twenty (G20) will be inclusive, ambitious, and action-oriented, as the country takes over the leadership of premier forum for international economic cooperation today.

PM Modi stated in a blog post that India will endeavour to establish a worldwide feeling of oneness, and that its goals will be determined not only in conjunction with G20 partners, but also with the Global South. He emphasised that today’s big issues, such as climate change, terrorism, and pandemics, cannot be handled by battling each other, but rather by working together.

In his blog post, he wrote “The agenda for India’s G20 presidency will be inclusive, ambitious, action-oriented, and decisive. Let us all work together to make India’s G20 presidency one of reconciliation, unity, and optimism. Let us collaborate to create a new paradigm of human-centered globalisation.”

During its G-20 presidency, India will host over 200 meetings in 32 different sectors across the country. According to the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), G-20 Summit next year would be one of the most high-profile international events hosted by India.

In his blog post, Prime Minister stated that the previous 17 G20 Presidency brought substantial gains, including guaranteeing macroeconomic stability, rationalising international taxes, and alleviating nations’ debt burdens, among many other outcomes. We will profit from these accomplishments and expand on them.

However, as India takes on this vital role, Prime Minister Modi wondered – “Can the G20 go much further? Can we spark a fundamental attitude shift that will benefit mankind as a whole?”

PM Modi stated that India’s G20 presidency will try to create this worldwide feeling of one-ness, using India’s theme of “One Earth, One Family, One Future.”

He further added “This isn’t simply a catchphrase. It considers current developments in human conditions that we have collectively failed to recognise. Today, we have the ability to generate enough to fulfil the fundamental requirements of everyone on the planet.”
