India saw a decline in the number of new COVID cases on Tuesday. The Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare recorded 13,615 illnesses during the past 24 hours, which represents a drop of 3063 infections from Monday.

Currently, there are 1,31,043 active cases, or 0.30 percent of all positive cases in the nation. The overall weekly positivity rate is 4.24 percent, with the daily positivity rate being 3.23%. The Ministry reports that 13,265 COVID patients had recovered in the past 24 hours, bringing the nation’s overall recovery rate from the start of the epidemic to 4,29,96,427. At the moment, the recovery rate is 98.50%.

As many as 20 patients succumbed to the virus during this period. The death toll in the country rose to 5,25,474.
Out of the 86.73 crore COVID tests conducted in the country so far, 4,21,292 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours.

Under the nationwide vaccination drive, 10,64,038 COVID vaccines were administered in the last 24 hours. A total of 1,99,00,59,536 vaccines have been jabbed so far.

In the new phase of the universalization of the COVID vaccination drive, the Union Government will procure and supply (free of cost) 75 per cent of the vaccines being produced by the vaccine manufacturers in the country to States and UTs.
