To discuss potential areas of cooperation and the potential for public-private partnerships, the Israeli Embassy in India organised a special session on September 1 in Delhi that brought together leading business figures, industrialists, and well-known entrepreneurs from both nations.
The Israel Economic & Commercial Mission in the embassy and The Economic Times India Leadership Council collaborated to organise this session.
Speaking at the event, H.E. Naor Gilon, the Israeli ambassador to India, said: “It was a great pleasure to host businesses and businesspeople from India. This further solidified the commercial and economic ties between the two nations. Additionally, it was unique because the two countries were commemorating 30 years of friendship and bilateral ties. Israel and India make excellent partners because they both have a passion for technological advancement. This is demonstrated by the fact that Israeli and Indian businesses are working together to develop cutting-edge technologies.
Natasha Zangin, the Head of the Economic and Commercial Mission at the Israeli Embassy in New Delhi, spoke during the session about the Israeli economy and the burgeoning possibilities for trade partnerships between Israel and India.
She also discussed the objectives and programmes of the Israel Economic and Commercial Mission in Delhi, which supports, strengthens, and makes the trade, investment, and industrial R&D between Israel and India possible.
The overall session highlighted the expanding trade possibilities between the two nations. In 2021, the two countries’ bilateral trade exceeded $6 billion.
The meeting promoted communication and business connections between Israeli and Indian companies. High-level experts in the fields of technology and innovation from Israel and India also spoke at the event. Some of these speakers virtually joined the discussion from Israel. They discussed their ideas and observations regarding the Israeli innovation ecosystem, the economic relationship between Israel and India, and the expansion possibilities for Israeli businesses in India.
