The Vice-Chancellor of Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) has taken serious note of the vandalism of walls and staff rooms of JNU's School of International Studies (SIS).

The Vice-Chancellor of Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) has taken serious note of the vandalism of walls and staff rooms of JNU’s School of International Studies (SIS).

Prof. Santishree D. Pandit, Vice-Chancellor of JNU, issued a statement on Thursday in response to an instance of vandalism in which the walls of the SIS, JNU were vandalised with “anti-brahmin” slogans.

The JNU Registrar’s notification stated “The administration rejects these exclusive inclinations on campus. Such events will not be permitted since JNU belongs to everyone.”

Meanwhile, the Dean of the School of International Studies and the Grievances Committee have been instructed to investigate and report back to the VC as soon as possible.

According to the Registrar’s notice “JNU represents inclusivity and equality. The VC reiterates that there is no tolerance for violence on campus.”
