In connection with disturbances that erupted on June 3, a special investigation team visited the violence site in Kanpur and collected evidence.

“As part of our investigation, we’re speaking with sanitation employees. We’re also gathering evidence in relation to the event that occurred” stated Tripurari Pandey, Assistant Commissioner of Police in Kanpur and a member of the Special Investigation Team (SIT).

On June 3, a violent clash erupted between two groups from different clans in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, apparently over a market shutdown.

In the Kanpur violence case, 36 people have been arrested, three FIRs have been filed, and additional investigation is continuing.

In connection with the event, all of the defendants, including key conspirator Hayat Zafar Hashmi, were sentenced to a 14-day court remand on Sunday. They were transported to Kanpur District Jail by police after being placed on a 14-day remand.

The primary offender in the Kanpur violence case, Hayat Jaffar Hashmi, was detained along with three other masterminds earlier on Saturday, according to the Uttar Pradesh Police.

According to Kanpur Police Commissioner Vijay Singh Meena, “We’ll look into whether they have any ties to PFI. The Gangster Act would be used to pursue action against NSA and their assets.”

According to the authorities, the violence began when some people attempted to close establishments that were opposed by the other group. The conflicts resulted in the injuries of two people and one police officer.
