Continuous targeted killings in Jammu and Kashmir of pandits have traumatized and created fear in minds of people. In the month of June, three civilians have been targeted by the terrorists. These include bank manager Vijay Kumar and a laborer from Bihar.
As simultaneous target killings in J&K shock the valley, NewsX has formulated an action plan for the safety of pandits.
The steps include set up a high-powered team to handle pandit security, making Pakistan pay a heavy price for every single attack, finish transfers of pandits from remote areas by end of the week, provide secured accommodation/requisition hotels for pandits leaving in fear.
Other steps include deployment of coordination officers in every district working with pandit community groups, put ceasefire with Pakistan under review, announce the set-up of medium-term enclaves for pandits, organise progressive Muslim leaders to do solidarity marches with pandits.
Additionally, J&K Muslim families should offer to host pandits, multi-faith ‘Srinagar declaration’ to recognise the pandit genocide officially, land exchange for pandits wanting to shift to pandit enclaves, organise a global outreach tour for pandits to represent themselves in global capitals, including Saudi & UAE, shut this employment scheme & redirect 4,000 pandits to build & govern own sanitised area and district wise sweep of know terror hideouts, sympathisers.
