Earlier in the day, Doda Police, in collaboration with security forces, apprehended a terrorist and recovered a Chinese handgun, two magazines, 14 live cartridges, and a mobile phone from his hands.
According to authorities, the terrorist has been identified as Fareed Ahmad, a resident of Koti Doda. Prior to the Amarnath yatra, a police detachment from Doda police station set up a Naka on the outskirts of Doda Town and apprehended a young guy carrying rifles and ammunition.
After the accused was apprehended and a special team began an investigation, it was discovered that Ahmad had obtained rifles and ammunition from a suspect in March 2022 and was charged with assaulting police officers in Doda.
The accused is extremely radicalised and used to receive calls from terror commanders headquartered over the border, motivating him to work for terror organisations in the Kashmir valley and the Doda area, according to preliminary investigations.
