According to fire department representatives, seven fire vehicles, two rescue vans, and ambulances were dispatched.

A four-story structure fell late on Monday night in Naik Nagar, Kurla East, Mumbai, killing at least one person and injuring 11. Local councilwoman Pravina Morajkar expressed concern that there may be more individuals trapped under the debris.

The event was reported last night at 11:52 p.m. For rescue and relief operations, the fire department sent out seven trucks, two rescue vans, and ambulances. The fire department had initially estimated that there might be close to 20 individuals trapped beneath the debris.

“They were handed orders to leave this colony of four decaying buildings five or six years ago. The inhabitants stayed, though. On Monday evening, one structure fell. However, before the fire department arrived, five to six persons had been rescued from the rubble. Morajkar had stated last night that they were being treated and taken to hospitals for injuries.

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) had been requested by the fire department to send dumpers and excavators to assist in the rescue operation.

According to Morajkar, BMC will relocate the last three buildings’ inhabitants on Tuesday morning. She said that the BMC had given tenants adequate notice to leave the buildings.v
