Andhra Pradesh Minister for Endowments, Anam Ramanarayana Reddy, claimed that the Venkateswara Swamy Temple had a capacity of up to 2,000 to 3,000 people, but 25,000 devotees had arrived to offer prayers on Ekadashi.
He wrote on X, “It is a private temple built by a man named Harimukund Panda with his own funds on 12 acres of his own land. The capacity of this temple is only 2,000 to 3,000 people. Today being Ekadashi, up to 25,000 people came at once. The person did not make appropriate arrangements or inform the government. This is the reason for the tragedy that occurred. “
