Ghazal Alagh, a co-founder of Mamaearth, also expressed regret, stating that a staff member's incorrect remark caused the organisation to accidentally offend many individuals.

After receiving harsh criticism on social media, beauty and infant care company Mamaearth issued an apology on Saturday for supporting actor Richa Chadha’s Galwan remark. The firm expressed apologies for the comment and its support for the Indian Army in a tweet.

“Mamaearth genuinely apologises for offending anyone’s feelings as a result of a poorly written Twitter message. As a patriotic Indian business, we support and appreciate our military forces. We do not share the opinions of anyone who holds a different belief “stated the company.

Ghazal Alagh, a co-founder of Mamaearth, also said on Twitter that a staff member’s incorrect remark caused the organisation to accidentally offend many individuals.

Chadha has previously expressed regret for her remark, which was taken to be disrespectful of the Indian Army. She had written: “Galwan says Hi” in a tweet. In a tweet, a senior army general was quoted as saying that the army was prepared to carry out any orders from the government to retake PoK. (Pakistan-occupied Kashmir).

In a tweet, Mamaearth stated: “The phrase “Galwan says Hi” is ambiguous, but we read it as a reminder of the advantage the Indian army had during the stalemate despite being outnumbered and operating in difficult terrain. Viewpoint #MamaEarthCares.”

Many people were not pleased with this and demanded a boycott of Mamaearth products. One Aswin Kumar claimed to have purchased their goods in the past for his little nieces “And from today, I won’t purchase any things from @mamaearthindia, and I urge everyone nearby to do the same. It’s enough already.”
