In response to a video recording made by saffron party lawmaker Ajay Mahawar, deputy speaker Rakhi Birla marshalled out all BJP MLAs on Friday for the duration of the special session.

In the midst of a political brawl between the AAP and BJP over the involvement of central investigation agencies in the excise policy of the Kejriwal administration, and the latter accusing the former of attempting to lure its MLAs, the ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has called for a special session of the Delhi Assembly on Friday. Ramesh Bidhuri, the leader of the opposition in the assembly, asserted that the ruling party had turned the chamber into a “political arena.” A one-day meeting is a parody of democracy, he continued.
