The recoveries were achieved by the 205 CoBRA Battalion of the CRPF during several operations carried out in Gaya’s forests. One AK-series rifle, 250 rounds of ammunition, 65 pressure improvised explosive devices (IEDs), 446 series IEDs, 101 can IEDs, and 495 detonators are among the weapons and ammunition that were seized.
These searches were carried out by the CRPF, a central paramilitary unit under the Ministry of Home Affairs.
In three separate joint search operations last month, the CRPF also discovered a sizable stockpile of ammunition in the Jharkhand district of Lohardaga. Six IEDs (2 kg each), two bundle wires, 40 pieces of MSeal packages, and 421 live rounds of ammunition are among the confiscated ammo.
With more than three lakh members, the CRPF is the main organisation responsible for the nation’s internal security.
Apart from managing responsibilities connected to installation security, election duties, and VIP protection, it also handles counter-insurgency, counter-terrorism, and left-wing extremism.
