Development of education and health facilities, cleanliness, and improved municipal amenities are among the top priorities for voters in the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) election, which takes place on Sunday.
Polling began at 8 a.m. and will continue until 5:30 p.m. On December 7, votes will be tallied.
9% voter turnout was observed in MCD elections till 10:30 a.m.
According to the State Election Commission, voter turnout in MCD elections was around 9% till 10:30 a.m.
The MCD elections are a wake-up call for Delhi, according to Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri.
Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri remarked after voting in the Delhi MCD elections that the elections were a wake-up call for Delhi.
“We must transform India into a developed country by 2047… A recent analysis indicated that we will rise to third place (economy) in the next 4-5 years. As a result, individuals must decide which brand of politics they wish to support “He stated.
