Bengaluru: PM Modi to inaugurate Terminal 2 of Kempegowda International Airport

PM Modi will visit Karnataka and open Terminal 2 of Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru. He will also signal the start of the Vande Bharat railway between Mysuru and Chennai.
Friday will witness the opening of Terminal 2 at Bengaluru’s Kempegowda International Airport by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is also visiting Karnataka. He will also signal the start of the Vande Bharat railway between Mysuru and Chennai.
PM Modi has prioritised overall infrastructure development across the country. According to a press release, the administration has taken several efforts under his leadership to boost infrastructure development in Karnataka. The central government has approved over Rs 70,000 crore for 5,000 km of national roads in Karnataka during the previous eight years.
“Prior to 2014, the central government made an annual provision of Rs 800 crore for Karnataka in the railway budget. However, the central government has allocated a provision of around Rs 7,000 crore in this year’s budget. It is now about nine times what was previously provisioned “According to the press announcement.
According to the report, just 16 km of railway lines in Karnataka were electrified in the ten years before 2014, but the state has subsequently electrified about 1600 km of railway lines.
