Due to commotion caused by opposition members about inflation and mismanagement of central agencies, both Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha were suspended till 2:30 pm.
Since the start of the session, both Houses have experienced constant adjournments. Today marked fourth day in a row since the monsoon session started that both Houses were disbanded without having accomplished anything.
Notably, opposition leaders, including Congress MPs, are demonstrating against Central government once more today in Parliament over problems with inflation and price increases.
The government’s approach in Parliament was discussed during a meeting between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and senior ministers. This is because opposition parties frequently cause commotion and force adjournments of the Houses.
The conference was attended by a number of Union Ministers, including Rajnath Singh, Amit Shah, Pralhad Joshi, Anurag Singh Thakur, Kiren Rijiju, and Piyush Goyal.
While this is happening, Congress MPs Kodikunnil Suresh and Manickam Tagore both announce adjournment motions in Lok Sabha on topic of unemployment and most recent increase in the GST rate, respectively.
Rajya Sabha Chairman has also received letters from five CPI(M) MPs, including Elamaram Kareem, objecting to two BJP MPs’ requests to propose Private Members’ Bills: 2020 Uniform Civil Code in India Bill (KL Meena) and the 2022 Places of Worship (Spl Provisions) Repeal Bill (HS Yadav).
In accordance with Rule 67, CPI Rajya Sabha MP Binoy Viswam objects to BJP MP Harnath Singh Yadav’s presentation of “The Places of Worship (Special Provisions) Repeal Bill.”
However, today will see the introduction of a private members’ bill on population control by BJP Lok Sabha MP Ravi Kishan.
