Mumbai police detained three people on Sunday after they were suspected of assaulting and killing a 28-year-old man in Mumbai.

Mumbai police detained three people on Sunday after they were suspected of assaulting and killing a 28-year-old man in Mumbai.

The dead has been named as Ronit Prabhakar Bhalerao. According to Shahunagar Police, he was travelling with a friend to the Matunga labour camp on Sunday evening when he got into a fight with one of the accused for reportedly gazing at him.

Police further stated that the three defendants threatened Ronit with belts, kicked and punched him, and then smashed him twice to the ground.

Rohit suffered several wounds and was brought to hospital, where the doctor proclaimed him dead.

A complaint under sections 302, 324, 326, 504, 506, and 34 of IPC has been filed, and all three accused have been placed under custody.
