The Twitter CEO has finally spoken out about his anticipated resignation following Monday’s election.
Elon Musk took to Twitter to say, “I will quit as CEO as soon as I find someone crazy enough to take the position!”
The multi-billionaire went on to say that he will exclusively oversee “the software and servers teams” in the future.
Netizens responded in a variety of ways to the message.
“Elon is motivated by integrity. Many people believe in you and your endeavours. Twitter will be enormously successful “a user commented.
Another person sarcastically offered to be up for the role, stating, “I’ll be the CEO, I was the Time’s 2006 Person of the year”.
Earlier on December 19, Twitter CEO Elon Musk launched a poll on the microblogging site, asking followers if he should stand down as CEO of the social media company and promised to follow the results.
Elon Musk stated on Twitter, “Should I resign as Twitter’s CEO? I will follow the outcome of this poll.”
Within minutes of Musk’s cryptic post, in which he asked people if he should stand down as CEO of the social media network and also promised to respect the outcome, the ‘yes’ votes began to edge ahead, hitting 57.5 percent.
Musk said, “As the adage goes, be careful what you wish for, because you could get it.”
This survey comes after Twitter stated on Sunday that accounts used to promote other accounts on other social networking sites, including Facebook, Instagram, and Mastodon, will be banned.
Furthermore, Twitter stated that cross-posting information from any social networking platform is still permitted “Posting URLs or usernames to social media sites other than those specified above does not violate our policy.”
The Twitter rule change comes at a time when Musk has been chastised for major policy changes on the network.
