According to the officials, two cars transporting several wild animals were impounded in the Rangia district on Thursday.

The rare species of tortoises, monkeys, and other wild creatures that were rescued from the traffickers included these.

“We have retrieved a sizable quantity of wild animals from two vehicles. The people who were detained admitted under questioning that they were from Mizoram. They intended to sneak them into several locations in North India “Rangia Police said.

In the Nagaon area of Assam earlier on August 31, the forest officers discovered the remains of wild animals, including two leopard skins.

Based on data provided by the Forest Department, authorities from the Nagaon Forest Division conducted an operation in the Doboka Namati and Kampur regions on Wednesday and found two leopard skins as well as a few pangolin skins.

In connection with the crime, the forest officers also detained four people named Abdul Rahman, Afaz Uddin, Samed Ali, and Nizam Uddin.

A case had been opened in conjunction with the retrieval by the representative of the Nagaon Forest Division.

According to District Forest Officer of Nagaon Forest Division, Bhaskar Deka, operation was started based on information obtained yesterday from the PCCF (Principal Chief Conservator of Forests) and HoFF (Head of Forest Forces).
