In the flood and landslide that occurred in the Bangabagad area of Nepal’s Darchula district, which borders India, at least two persons were killed and 11 are still unaccounted for.

Houses and two bridges were destroyed early on Saturday as a result of the nonstop rain that started on Friday and caused the Lasku and Mahakali Rivers to overflow.

According to sources, two people died and 11 others are still missing after a landslide and flooding disaster early on Saturday morning, according to Jagat Magar, a police inspector at the District Police Office in Darchula.

A woman and a girl were buried on Saturday at around 1 AM (NST) in the landside of the Naugad Village Council of the district, according to the official, who is reporting the fatalities.

In Khalanga, the district’s administrative centre, the flood has carried away more than a dozen homes. A suspension bridge and a concrete bridge both sustained lasting damage as a result of a few automobiles being swept away in the flood.

Inspector Magar stated that a search and rescue effort was under progress.

Meanwhile, the Pithoragarh district in India was surrounded by severe destruction.

According to Pithoragarh DM Ashish Chauhan’s statement to media, the cloud burst incident resulted in the destruction of roughly 30 homes and the death of one woman.

He added that teams from the NDRF and SDRF are working on the scene to provide help in addition to the administration.
