Accused was taken to the KGMU medical centre after being shot in the leg. Sufiyan, suspect in the suspected murder of a Hindu girl who was thrown from a rooftop in the city’s Dubagga neighbourhood on Tuesday, had a $1,000 reward issued by the Lucknow Police.

Authorities said, nine police squads were sent out to look for Sufiyan, who was dating Nidhi Gupta.

Four teams were organised to look for Sufiyan across Rajasthan, Uttarakhand, Delhi, and Haryana.

After a furious fight, Sufiyan allegedly killed his lover by shoving her from the fourth storey of a building in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh.

The victim was seriously hurt and was rushed to the medical centre at King George’s Medical University by her family, where she was treated and later pronounced dead by the medical staff.

The incident happened on Tuesday night in Sector H of Basant Kunj, which is within the jurisdiction of Dubagga police station.

According to the FIR, which was based on a complaint by the girl’s family, accused Sufiyan used to pressure Nidhi to convert to Islam before getting married.
