Nitu Ghanghas won gold medal the women's 48 kg Commonwealth Games 2022 and later Amit Panghal joined her by winning gold in men's 51 kg on Sunday.
Nitu Ghanghas won gold medal the women’s 48 kg Commonwealth Games 2022 and later Amit Panghal joined her by winning gold in men’s 51 kg on Sunday.
Nitu won two gold medals at the Youth World Championships, and has now won a significant senior medal. Panghal has won a gold medal at the Asian Games and a silver at the world championships. Panghal advanced on his silver medal from the previous competition by defeating Englishman Kiaran MacDonald, who won silver at the European Championships, 5-0 in the men’s flyweight division.
Nitu, defeated Demie-Jade Resztan of England, who won the bronze medal at the 2019 World Championships, by a 5-0 unanimous decision.
