In Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa region, armed men opened fire on a school vehicle on Monday, killing the driver and wounded a youngster.
Following the Taliban takeover of Afghanistan in August, concerns have been raised about Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan’s (TTP) expanding presence in the nation’s northwest at the time of this occurrence. A day after the 10th anniversary of the murder of Nobel laureate Malala Yousafzai by the TTP terrorist organisation, the shooting took occurred in Swat’s Char Bagh neighbourhood, according to the Dawn newspaper.
According to the report, the incident happened on Monday in front of the Knowledge City School in the Guli Bagh neighbourhood.
15 pupils were in the car at the time of the attack, District Police Officer (DPO) Zahid Marwat informed Dawn. Marwat said that the injured student and the dead had been sent to the Khwazakhela Hospital.
Numerous students and instructors from private schools in the Swat district protested against terrorist activity in the area when the news surfaced.
The law and order situation in Swat has allegedly been deteriorating for the last three months, according to hundreds of demonstrators who shouted slogans calling for peace in the area.
