Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra urged on Friday that the Central government remove the 'Agnipath' plan with immediate effect
In a tweet, Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra urged on Friday that the Central government remove the ‘Agnipath’ plan with immediate effect.
Recognizing the seriousness of the demonstrations, the Centre agreed on Thursday to modify the maximum age restriction for enlisting Agniveers.
Centre declared on June 16, 2022, that the Agniveer upper age restriction for recruitments via the Agnipath Scheme has been raised to 23 years from 21 years, as a one-time waiver.
In light of the aforementioned occurrences, the Congress leader turned to Twitter and stated, “The BJP administration was forced to amend the terms of the new army recruiting plan in less than 24 hours. It implies that the strategy is being rushed onto the kid. Please, Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji, cancel this plan immediately. First, you need to make an appointment (letters), which will lead to Air Force recruiting. Continue with army recruiting (with age relaxation).”
Earlier on Thursday, hundreds of hopefuls disrupted rail and road traffic in Bihar, as police fired tear gas shells to disperse them in protest of the Central government’s ‘Agnipath’ plan for recruitment in the armed services.
