Prophet Mohammed Row: Al-Qaeda warns of ‘suicide bombings’ in Delhi, Mumbai, UP and Gujarat

Al-Qaeda in the Indian Subcontinent (AQIS) has threatened to carry out “suicide bombings” in Delhi, Mumbai, Uttar Pradesh, and Gujarat in retaliation for the insult to the Prophet Mohammed.

“The saffron terrorists should now await their end in Delhi, Bombay, UP and Gujarat. They should find refuge neither in their homes, nor in their fortified army cantonments,” a threat letter by the AQIS read.

It said that the “hearts of Muslims all around the world are bleeding” and that they are filled with vengeance and retribution sentiments.

Nupur Sharma, a former spokesperson for the Bharatiya Janata Party, was suspended from the party for making inflammatory statements against Prophet Mohammed. Nupur Sharma’s outrageous comment sparked outrage throughout the world. Several Muslim countries, including Afghanistan, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, Indonesia, and Iran, as well as the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, have publicly complained and sought an apology for their words.

The terrifying warning issued by AQIS, on the other hand, has aroused the country’s security officials. The message also mentions Ghazwa-e-Hind, which is said to prophesy wars between Muslims and non-Muslims in the Indian subcontinent, with Muslims triumphing.

“At the same time, we bring tidings of death and destruction to the rulers of India, of executions and hangings, of imprisonment and being bound with chains,” read the letter. Meanwhile, the Delhi Police have offered security to suspended BJP spokeswoman Nupur Sharma, who has received death threats as a result of her contentious statements.
