Punjab government announced today that security cover for over 420 VIPs will be reinstated, five days after singer Sidhu Moose Wala was shot dead

The Punjab government announced today that security cover for over 420 VIPs will be reinstated, five days after singer Sidhu Moose Wala was shot dead and his security cover was revoked.

The administration of the Aam Aadmi Party, or AAP, informed the Punjab and Haryana High Court, which was hearing a case by former minister OP Soni, who is one of the 424 people whose security cover has been revoked.

Since the assassination of Sidhu Moose Wala, the Punjab administration, led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, has been criticised for reducing protection for VVIPs.

Unidentified assassins shot and killed Moosewala on Sunday in Punjab’s Mansa district, a day after the state government revoked his security cover.
