Republic Day Live Updates: ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ & ‘Nari Shakti’ prominent themes of parade

The grand parade of Republic Day 2023 at Kartavya Path was special for India as the participants gave a push to the theme of 'Atmanirbhar Bharat' by showcasing indigenously developed weapon systems.

10:39 (IST) Jan 26: Combined band and marching contingent of the Egyptian Armed Forces takes part in the ceremonial parade for the first time. The contingent is being led by Colonel Mahmoud Mohamed Abdel Fattah El Kharasawy.

10:33 (IST) Jan 26: National Anthem and 21-gun salute presented. The ceremonial salute has been given with 105-mm Indian field guns. It has replaced the vintage 25-pounder guns, reflecting upon the growing ‘Aatmanirbharta’ in defence.

09:13 (IST) Jan 26: Marching down the Kartavya Path for the first time will be the combined Band and Marching contingent of the Egyptian Armed Forces, led by Colonel Mahmoud Mohamed Abdel Fattah El Kharasawy. The contingent will consist of 144 soldiers, representing the main branches of the Egyptian Armed Forces.
