As the inquiry into the Salman Khan threat letter continues, the Maharashtra Home Department has learned that the letter was designed to extort money from big businessmen and actors by mobster Lawrence Bishnoi’s gang.
Popular Bollywood star Salman Khan and his father received a death threat just days after Punjabi singer Sidhu Moose Wala was shot dead. The note was discovered by Father Salim Khan’s security crew outside their Mumbai house, near the Bandra Bandstand promenade, where Salim Khan goes for his morning exercise.
According to evidence obtained from the Maharashtra Home Department, Bishnoi gang threatened Salman Khan and his father Salim Khan in order to create an atmosphere in which they could demonstrate their dominance.
He stated, “The group was planning to extort money from big businessmen and actors.”
Meanwhile, in the early hours of Wednesday, Punjab Police took mobster Lawrence Bishnoi from Delhi to the state under heavy security to question him in the murder of musician Sidhu Moosewala. Bishnoi was brought before a court in Mansa district, where he was held in police custody for seven days.
In the case of the musician and Congress leader Moosewala’s murder, a Delhi court on Tuesday granted Punjab Police a transit remand of Bishnoi, allowing them to transport him to Punjab. The order was issued after Punjab Police formally arrested Bishnoi in the case and brought him before the Delhi Court.
Earlier on June 8, Delhi Police announced that mobster Lawrence Bishnoi was the mastermind behind the assassination of famed Punjabi singer Sidhu Moose Wala.
