Anupam Kher, a seasoned actor, stated that it is "shameful" of IFFI jury chairman Nadav Lapid to call the movie "propaganda, filthy," during the festival's closing ceremony.
Anupam Kher, a veteran actor and Special Jury Award Winner for ‘Maine Gandhi ko Nahin Maara’, stated on Tuesday that it is “shameful” of the IFFI (International Film Festival of India) jury chairman Nadav Lapid to call the movie “propaganda, filthy,” during the festival’s closing ceremony.
Lapid called “The Kashmir Files” a “propaganda, disgusting film” during the IFFI’s closing ceremony on November 28. He said that he was “shocked” to see the movie in the competitive part of such a prominent film festival.
The exodus of Kashmiri pandits is likewise correct if the Holocaust was accurate. This seemed to be pre-planned because the tool-kit gang started acting up right away.
Even if he comes from a community of Jews who endured the Holocaust, it is disgusting for him to make such a comment, Kher told the media agency on Tuesday.
Therefore, by saying anything like this, he has also hurt the victims of this catastrophe. Just may God grant him discernment, he continued, “so that he does not utilise the tragedy of thousands of people to further his purpose on stage.
No matter how high the height of the falsehood is.. It is always little in comparison to the truth, Anupam Kher tweeted in response to Lapid’s comments. The seasoned actor tweeted a photo from “The Kashmir Files” and “Schindler’s List,” both directed by Steven Spielberg.
The Kashmir Files, which was released earlier this year, was included in the schedule for the IFFI’s Indian Panorama category for the year 2022. The lives of Kashmiri Pandits in 1990, during the Kashmir conflict, is the subject of the movie. Based on first-generation video interviews, it is a factual story.
