According to party’s general secretary Praful Patel on Wednesday, Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) president Sharad Pawar immediately liquidated all of the party’s national-level departments and cells.

Patel used a microblogging website to confirm the NCP’s decision and to say that the development had the head NCP’s support. All National level Departments and Cells of @NCPspeaks, with the exception of the Nationalist Women’s Congress, Nationalist Youth Congress, and Nationalist Students Congress, stand disbanded with immediate effect, with the agreement of our National President Hon’ble Shri Sharad Pawar Saheb.

Nationalist Women’s Congress, Nationalist Youth Congress, and Nationalist Students Congress were the outliers.

Patel continued, “This judgement does not apply to Maharashtra or any other state unit.

According to reports, decision was made in an effort to reorganise the NCP structure in the wake of the recent dissolution of the Shiv Sena-led Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government in Maharashtra, which was made up of the Congress, NCP, and Shiv Sena.

NCP was a significant component of the Shiv Sena-led coalition government that disintegrated in late June as a result of a mutiny by certain Shiv Sena MLAs led by Eknath Shinde against Uddhav Thackeray.

After the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) administration was overthrown by Shiv Sena MLA Eknath Shinde’s 10-day uprising, a new Maharashtra government took office.
