Aaftab Amin Poonawalla, the defendant in the Shraddha Walkar murder case, has been sent to judicial prison for 13 days by Delhi’s Saket Court. The murder of Shraddha Walkar, who was reportedly strangled to death by her live-in lover Aaftab, who then allegedly sliced her corpse into 35 pieces and dumped it in the Chhatarpur neighbourhood of the nation’s capital, is being investigated by Delhi Police.

Sagar Preet Hooda, Special Commissioner of Police (Law and Order), Zone II, stated that “Police have started the legal procedure for the presentation of Aaftab for further proceedings in the Polygraph Test.” Aaftab will likely undergo a narco test on November 28, according to sources who spoke on Saturday. The Delhi Police had earlier on Friday announced that Aaftab’s polygraph test could not be performed. The accused Aaftab Amin’s polygraph test in the Mehrauli police station case FIR No. 659/22 under section 365/302/201 IPC could not be conducted today, according to Special CP Sagar Preet Hooda of the Delhi Police. On November 16, the Delhi Police collected DNA samples from Vikas Walkar, the father of Shraddha, in order to match the blood sample with the body pieces that had been dumped.

Blood traces were discovered in the kitchen of the accused Aftab Amin Poonawalla’s apartment in Delhi’s Chhatarpur during the course of the inquiry, according to the Delhi Police. To identify whose blood it was, the blood samples were sent for analysis. The victim’s body’s DNA test results had not yet been received by the authorities, according to a previous statement from the Delhi Police.

Sagar Preet Hooda, IPS, Special Commissioner of Police, Law and Order, Zone II, stated that the police had not yet received the results of the DNA tests conducted on the victim’s body parts.

Aaftab Amin Poonawalla was detained by Delhi Police after they claimed to have solved the six-month-old blind murder case based on Shraddha’s father’s accusation.

On November 10, Delhi Police got a complaint from Shraddha’s father and filed a FIR. Following their online dating encounter, Aftab and Shraddha moved in together at a Chhatarpur rental home.

After killing Shraddha on May 18, Aftab began making plans to dispose of her corpse, according to information obtained during questioning by Delhi Police. He admitted to reading up on human anatomy to aid him in hacking off the body when he spoke to police. Police said that after using Google’s shopping mode, Aftab used some chemicals to wipe up blood stains on the floor and disposed of the contaminated clothing.
