Lawrence Bishnoi voiced his discontent with Bishnoi's appearance in the Magistrate's house late last night

In the hearing today, the counsel for mobster Lawrence Bishnoi voiced his discontent with Bishnoi’s appearance in the Magistrate’s house late last night and the prolongation of his custody for another six days in singer Sidhu Moose Wala’s murder case.

According to Advocate Vishal Chopra, there are adequate norms and associated judgments governing the production of the accused in court, however, Punjab police are blatantly breaching the law by bringing Lawrence Bishnoi to the magistrate’s apartment without even his legal counsel.

“We have decided to go to the Supreme Court against Punjab Police’s behaviour in producing Lawrence Bishnoi one day prior without our knowledge and taking him into custody,” he added.

Advocate Chopra stated that the remand was supposed to terminate today, but because of security concerns, it was extended.

He also argued that Lawrence’s remand was set to expire tonight, but for security considerations, the Punjab Police presented him in court at night and extended his remand till June 27.

He said that the Punjab Police Department is attempting to dodge medical checks, saying that “There is a breach of our rights which is why we are now planning to go directly to the Supreme Court.”

Earlier on June 14, the Patiala House Court of Delhi allowed Punjab Police to arrest Gangster Lawrence Bishnoi in connection with Singer Sidhu Moose Wala’s murder case; allowed Punjab Police transit application; and directed Punjab Police to ensure that the accused Lawrence Bishnoi’s medical examination is conducted in accordance with law/rules before leaving Delhi and also before his production before the concerned Court of CJM, Mansa, Punjab.

Punjab Police had previously informed the Patiala House Court in Delhi that gangster Lawrence Bishnoi is a suspect in the murder of musician Sidhu Moose Wala. During the course of the inquiry, it was discovered that Lawrence Bishnoi was a crucial conspirator, and his detention is required.
