According to Sisodia, raids against him were entirely political in nature and had nothing to do with the claimed contraventions of Delhi's Excise Policy.
Manish Sisodia, deputy chief minister of Delhi, had his home searched by CBI the day before. Following this, AAP leader predicted that Sisodia would likely be arrested soon because of the excise policy or alcohol issue because he served as a minister under Arwind Kejriwal.
According to Sisodia, raids against him were entirely political in nature and had nothing to do with the claimed contraventions of Delhi’s Excise Policy.
In a press conference today, Sisodia said “We won’t be afraid, and you won’t be able to break us… Maybe within the next three to four days, CBI-ED will arrest me. AAP and BJP will face off in the 2024 elections.”
He further went on to say “Their problem isn’t a liquor or tax fraud. Arvind Kejriwal is their problem, and the entire legal process against me, including the searches on my home and business, is intended to stop him. I haven’t corrupted anyone. I’m only Arvind Kejriwal’s minister of education.”
Sisodia emphasised that Delhi’s excise policy was the finest policy, “The best policy for the nation is the excise policy, which is the cause of the entire debate. We were implementing it honestly and transparently. If Delhi LG hadn’t changed his mind and planned to undermine the scheme, the Delhi government would have received at least Rs 10,000 crore annually.”
Earlier on Friday, CBI conducted searches at many sites in connection with a case involving the AAP government’s now-retracted excise policy, Sisodia stated that he and his family had cooperated with the agency, which he said was “being exploited” by the Center.
