India beat Pakistan by five wickets in the Asia Cup 2025 final at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. Bowlers restricted Pakistan to 146, with Kuldeep Yadav taking four wickets and Jasprit Bumrah, Varun Chakravarthy and Axar Patel sharing additional breakthroughs.
Tilak Varma steadied India’s chase with an unbeaten 69, while Suryakumar Yadav led the side as captain. India completed the run chase with composure and clinched the title in a high-pressure finish. Fans and players celebrated the victory across stadiums and online. The result added another high-profile win for India against its traditional rival in major tournaments.
The final produced several notable moments on the field and off it. Jitesh Sharma, Arshdeep Singh and Harshit Rana drew attention after they mimicked a rival player’s celebration in a clip that went viral on social platforms. Sanju Samson appeared amused while standing beside them.
Commentators and fans debated the clip, sharing the footage widely. Social media filled with reactions ranging from amusement to criticism.
The celebrations and on-field rivalry generated intense online engagement, bringing both praise and scrutiny for player behaviour after a major tournament win.
Alongside celebratory posts, social media also saw angry and abusive reactions from some fans. A video circulated on X showing a Pakistani fan who expressed deep frustration after his team’s loss. In the clip, the fan used heated language and urged extreme actions, and he recommended protesting against the team’s performance.
In a video shared by user Frontalforce on X, a Pakistani fan appeared disappointed after his team lost the Asia Cup to India. He said, “Losing is their profession. I say we should do to them what Hitler did – bring them, tie them in front of the cannons and give a 21-gun salute, I mean tie them to the cannon and blow them up. Is this even management? You lose everything, but at least don’t lose to India. You lose every series. You can’t do it, go back. Ever since they made Mohsin Naqvi chairman -someone who knows nothing, things have fallen apart. It used to be Babar’s time, when Babar got out everyone would say ‘Babar bhai, make tea, we’re coming’ then, one by one they get out…”
In a video shared by a Pakistani cricket fan – Malik Shazaf said, questioned, “Why not we?”
He added, “Why can’t we win or celebrate like them? Why can’t we feel as happy as they are? We lose over small mistakes. Is one man carrying the whole burden for us will Farhan play and we will be out? Haris – what bowling was that, man?
I want to say either fix this or end it. We have taken responsibility… being disgraced in the green passport, being disgraced in the green T-shirt…
Their Abhishek Bachchan… oops Abhishek Sharma… whoever he is, the best player, the one like Gill who chants – you got him out. And even after that… Haris too, what a thing, you are showing others… then what -when it was time to play, you choked.”
He ended with the same question: “Why not us?”
