Punjab police tighten security before Sudhir Suri’s post mortem

Hours before the conduct of his post-mortem, security outside the post-mortem facility was also heightened. According to Punjab Director General of Police (DGP) Gaurav Yadav, all potential motives and conspiracies would be properly examined.
Sudhir Suri was fatally shot on Friday in front of Gopal Mandir, one of the busiest locations in the city, on Majitha Road, where he and a few other party officials were conducting a demonstration,
He later passed away from his injuries after being brought to a hospital.
Punjab DGP added that they had detained the accused and had filed a murder charge under section 302 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
Adding further DGP Yadav stated, “It is a regrettable act, and we strongly condemn it. I’ve come here to assess the situation at the scene of the sad tragedy. The attacker was taken into custody immediately, and a FIR under Section 302 was filed against the accused. The inquiry is being conducted. Investigations are being conducted into every angle, including possible murderous schemes and those responsible for the event.”
DGP had also pleaded with the populace to preserve unity and calm in the city, however, he didn’t comment on any Khalistani participation, saying that the investigation was still ongoing.
