According to police, a few terrorists were killed in an encounter in Jammu’s Sidhra region on Wednesday morning.

According to Mukesh Singh, the Additional Director General of Police (ADGP), Jammu Zone, the precise number of terrorists killed would be known only once the fire is extinguished and a search of the vehicle they were travelling in is conducted.

ADGP Singh said “The confrontation has concluded. Two to three terrorists were present. There may be more. They were well-armed. They have been rendered ineffective.”

The ADGP explained the operation, saying that because it is Republic Day, the Border Security Forces are on high alert, and they spotted an odd movement of a vehicle this morning.

“We followed a vehicle after seeing an unusual activity. The vehicle was halted in Jammu at Sidhra, and the driver managed to leave. Terrorists were hiding inside the vehicle as it was searched, and they opened fire on the employees. The retaliatory fire was carried out. The vehicle is still burning “ADGP added.

More information is awaited.
