Season 2 of ‘The Lincoln Lawyer’ has been renewed by Netflix. According to Variety, Michael Connelly’s television adaptation of his novel series began in May. The first season consisted of 10 episodes and was based on the book “The Brass Verdict.” Season 2 will also include ten episodes and will be based on the novel “The Fifth Witness.” Dailyn Rodriguez will also join the show’s second season as co-showrunner and executive producer. She and Season 1 showrunner Ted Humphrey will co-executive produce the show.
Rodriguez had previously worked as a co-showrunner on the USA Network series ‘Queen of the South,’ as well as writing for Fox shows such as ‘Fantasy Island’ and ‘Lie to Me,’ as well as A&E’s ‘The Glades.’
‘The Lincoln Lawyer’ was created by David E. Kelley and Humphrey. Executive producers of the series include Connelly, Rodriguez, Ross Fineman, Barry Jossen, and Tana Jamieson. A+E Studios created the show for Netflix.
‘The Lincoln Lawyer,’ Connelly’s 2006 novel, was adapted for the big screen in 2011, with Matthew McConaughey as Haller. The Brad Furman picture, which also starred Marisa Tomei as Haller’s ex-wife Maggie McPherson, was a box office hit.
In Season 1, Mickey Haller, an iconoclastic optimist, runs his law office from the back seat of his Lincoln, taking on cases large and small across Los Angeles, as reported by Variety.
Manuel Garcia-Rulfo will resume his role as Mickey Haller in Season 2, along with Neve Campbell (Maggie McPherson), Becki Newton (Lorna), Jazz Raycole (Izzy), and Angus Sampson (Cisco) from Season 1.
