Security forces killed two Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorists on Tuesday in the Chaktaras Kandi region of Jammu and Kashmir’s Kupwara, one of them was from Pakistan, according to Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir Vijay Kumar.

The Pakistani terrorist goes by the code name Tufail, whereas the second terrorist killed has been identified as Ishtiaq Lone from Tral. “Two terrorists of LeT killed – one of them was a Pakistani terrorist, who had a code name ‘Tufail’. The other was Ishtiaq Lone from Tral who had joined recently,” Kumar said.

The IGP further stated that two AK-56 rifles were discovered among the terrorists slain.

The clash began this morning in the Chaktaras Kandi region of Jammu & Kashmir’s Kupwara district.

Security authorities killed a Pakistani terrorist connected with the banned terror group Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) in another encounter in Sopore on Monday.

Hanzalla of Lahore, Pakistan, was identified in documents found from the slain Pakistani terrorist.

The Jammu and Kashmir police reported on June 4 that a Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) ‘commander’ was killed in a midnight confrontation in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district.
