According to authorities on Monday, two Naxals were killed in a clash with the District Reserve Guard (DRG) close to Kadme Village.

The altercation started early in the morning in the Kanker neighbourhood, within the boundaries of the Siksod police station. LOS Commander for Badgaon, Darshan Padda was recognised as one of the slain Naxals, while the identity of the other is being ascertained.

“The bodies of two male naxals were found. A sizable quantity of weapons, ammo, and evidence relating to the Naxal movement were found there. Search efforts were ongoing while the area was cordoned off by BSF personnel and DRG teams, “said Bastar IG, P Sundarraj,.

Action was taken based on information indicating the presence of Maoist cadres from the Partapur Area Committee close to Kadme Forest. However, BSF and local police participated in the operation as well.

Earlier on October 23, police and security forces raided at least eight CPI (Maoist) modules that had been providing drugs, explosives, and supplies to naxals in the Bastar area during the previous two years.

These modules were in operation in the districts of Sukhma, Bijapur, Kanker, Dantewada, and Bastar.
