The mortal remains of Kanhaiya Lal, who was killed brutally on Tuesday, will soon arrive at his house. Once his body has been transported home, his family will perform the funeral rites.
A 40-year-old man was murdered by two people in broad daylight at his tailor shop in a bazaar in the Rajasthani city of Udaipur due to an exchange of several incendiary social media remarks in recent days.
The local police recently detained the tailor Kanhaiya Lal due to certain comments he made on social media. He informed police that he was getting threat calls on June 15, when he was out on bond.
The victim reportedly feared for his life and requested police protection, but the authorities ignored his request. This was according to a BJP leader.
Soon after the two guys, named as Riaz Akhtari and Ghouse Mohammad, were taken into custody, the Rajasthan Police announced the formation of a special investigation team (SIT).
After claiming to have “beheaded” the guy, Akhtari threatened to kill Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The attackers also made an indirect reference to Nupur Sharma, a BJP politician who was expelled from the organisation for making a statement against the Prophet Mohammad.
