Veteran Singer Bhupinder Singh passed away at the age of 82 on Monday. The singer, who was well-known for songs like “Dil Dhoondta Hai” and “Hothon Pe Aise Baat,” among many others, passed away at a Mumbai hospital.
Since everyone heard the news, condolence messages have begun flooding in on social media. Bollywood actors and musicians have also expressed their sorrow at the passing of the iconic vocalist.
Actor Shekhar Suman took to Twitter and wrote, “Dil dhoondta hai phir wohi fursat ke raat din..the man with the velvet voice..Bhupendra Singh is no more…RIP.”
Singer Harshdeep Kaur took to Twitter and wrote, “Extremely sad news… Rest in Peace Bhupinder Ji. A huge loss to the world of music.” “Oh no! RIP,” Ankur Tewari wrote.
Actor Ajay Devgn took to his Instagram stories to remember the late singer. He posted a photo of him and wrote, “Deeply saddened about the demise of Bhupinder Singh ji. His voice brought joy to millions and had a uniqueness. Condolences to his family. RIP Bhupinder Ji. (Om emoji) Shaanti.”
Singer Vishal Dadlani also expressed grief on Twitter. He wrote, “In memoriam #BhupinderSingh ji. A with a voice from a gentler time. Tragically poetic that he should follow Lataji, as he did so beautifully in the song #NaamGumJaayega composed by #RDBurman and written by Gulzarsaab. Unki awaaz hi pehchaan hai, aur hamesha yaad rahegi.”
Singer Bhupinder Singh died after a heart attack, according to his wife Mitali Singh. He had spent the previous ten days receiving treatment in the hospital for a number of health issues.
“He was admitted to the hospital eight to ten days ago as he had some infection in the urine. After tests were performed, he tested positive for COVID-19. He passed away at around 7.45 pm due to suspected colon cancer and had COVID-19,” Mitali Singh told PTI.
Bhupinder Singh worked with some of the biggest names in the music industry during the course of his five-decade career, including Mohammed Rafi, RD Burman, Madan Mohan, Lata Mangeshkar, Asha Bhosle, Gulzar, and Bappi Lahiri.
