Technology services and consulting company ‘Wipro’ has appointed Dhruv Anand as Country Head & Managing Director for its operations in Japan on Tuesday.

According to a statement from Wipro Limited, Dhruv will oversee the company’s growth in Japan and collaborate with clients to support them in realising their growth goals by utilising Wipro’s capabilities across the go-to-market themes of Experience, Data, Analytics & Insights, Engineering Edge, FullStride Cloud Services, Cybersecurity, Core Business Transformation, and Managed Services.

Dhruv has more than 20 years of experience working in the IT sector, with a focus on consulting, digital engineering, the Internet of Things, and emerging technologies for the Japanese automotive, manufacturing, and hi-tech industries. Dhruv spent his early professional years at Wipro before moving on to Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), where he held a number of leadership positions in sales, delivery, and account management for Japanese clients and their international operations. Dhruv headed the Manufacturing and Hi-Tech sector at TCS in his most recent position, concentrating on the Japanese automotive industry and ecosystem suppliers, added Wipro in their statement.

Wipro’s Anis Chenchah, member of the Wipro Executive Board and Chief Executive Officer, APMEA (Asia Pacific, Middle East, and Africa) said, “I am confident that Dhruv’s track record and credentials with Japanese Automotive and Manufacturing clients will be a strong asset for Wipro’s growth in these strategic focus sectors. This, coupled with his passion and deep understanding of the Japanese culture, language, and ways of working, positions him strongly to lead our business in Japan.”

In a statement, the newly appointed MD said, “I am humbled with the opportunity to lead Wipro in a country I am very passionate about and have spent 20 years living in.
