Former Karnataka chief minister and BJP leader BS Yediyurappa announced he will not run in the next Assembly elections from Shikaripura constituency and encouraged voters to endorse his son BY Vijayendra.
While speaking to a crowd at Anjanapura, Shikaripur Taluk on friday, he stated, “Will not run for office. I implore you to continue supporting BY Vijayendra as you have done for me over the years.”
A day after refuting charges that he had been ignored by the party, which is in charge in the southern state, Yediyurappa made his declaration.
“After the 2023 Assembly elections, there won’t be a Congress chief minister in Karnataka because we won’t let it. The lone BJP candidate for CM would win “declared Yediyurappa.
The former Chief Minister claimed, “Congress leaders had grown impatient and were talking about becoming the CM long before polls,” in reference to the internal conflict within the Congress between Siddaramaiah and DK Shivakumar for the position of Chief Minister. Congress is divided, and politicians are competing openly for the position of chief minister. In Karnataka, BJP will once more take office.
BJP candidate and current Minister for Sports and Youth Services Narayana Gowda’s win was assured by Vijayendra, the father claimed in a statement highlighting his son Vijayendra’s accomplishments and efforts in the K.R. Pet Assembly seat in Mandya district.
Vijayendra worked hard, and now Narayana Gowda has established a favourable environment to assure a victory in the districts’ three and four Assembly constituencies.
He asserted that his son could manage the “victories” of several MLAs in Karnataka.
