Gold Rates Today, 23 May 2026: Gold kicked off the day pretty calmly in India’s retail market, with prices staying mostly put and just a few little adjustments across cities. The gloss of 24-karat gold still looks firm near ₹1,59,320 per 10 grams. At the same time, 22-karat gold trades around ₹1,46,043 per 10 grams, and it’s mainly for jewellery uses. Even with the usual global turbulence, domestic bullion seems to be taking a breather, not exactly sprinting into fresh changes.
Silver is also behaving, sitting around ₹2,72,250 per kg, and there’s not much drama there. Based on those levels, gold continues to trade above the ₹1.5 lakh mark, although it has eased slightly from recent highs. This can be seen as a brief pause in trading activity after a volatile week. In short, gold is not showing movement today due to the weekend closure. The market is simply on hold, and active trading will resume once MCX reopens.
